On Wednesday 22nd of November, 2023, the European Personnel Recovery Centre held its 2023 Working Group Meeting, at its premises in Poggio Renatico Airbase, Italy. The meeting gathered representatives from all of the seven Member Nations, either in presence or by VTC, together with Commander EPRC, Deputy Commander EPRC and the Senior National Representatives.
This forum, at working-level, allows the Nations to support the Steering Group, by ensuring that the EPRC workflow is conducted in accordance with the SG’s directives and guidance. Based on the elements presented in a preliminary Commander’s Report, the Working Group discuss issues, provides further guidance, endorses proposals and, as required, formulates recommendations to be put at the SG’s decision. The agenda for this meeting covered several items, ranging from the governance of the EPRC, with a focus on the developments regarding the legal status, to the activities managed by the Centre, discussing courses’ content updates, developing new training opportunities; mentioning also external engagement with partners, and personnel management, with a focus on staff changes next summer.
Based on the fruitful exchanges held during that day, and guidance received from the Nations, the EPRC will continue to deliver concrete Education and Training products to improve the Nations’ PR capabilities, while maintain a solid network of partners.
The Working Group will meet again in Spring time to assess progress of the EPRC’s programme of activities.
