On the 3rd of July, 2024, the seven members of the EPRC Steering Group gathered in Amsterdam, answering an invitation from Air Commodore (NLD) Albert De Smit, current Director of the EPRC, for their annual meeting.
The Steering Group (SG) represents the highest governance body for the EPRC, in charge of providing the EPRC Permanent Staff with directives and guidance, by approving the upcoming year’s Programme of Activities, discussing various PR challenges, and reflecting on the Centre’s current and future capabilities.
This edition was more specifically focussed on elaborating on the just-distributed Treaty proposal, a document that will provide a solid legal basis to the Centre, with which foster the EPRC’s future developments.
The Nations’ representatives also discussed the conditions of feasibility of the main flagship events of the EPRC, inter alia the Joint Personnel Recovery Staff Course, the Air-centric PR Operatives Course, and the meetings of the SERE School Leaders’ Working Group, over the upcoming 12-month period.
At the end of the Meeting, the Steering Group, via the Director EPRC, bid farewell to the Commander EPRC, Col (FRA) Hervé Lahille, thanking him for the leadership provided all along the past three years, and welcomed his temporary replacement as acting Commander EPRC , Ltc (ITA) Andrea Rulli.
The EPRC Steering Group is planned to meet again in Amsterdam in summer 2025.
