June 30, 2025 – Poggio Renatico, Italy – Under the blazing summer sun, the European Personnel Recovery Centre (EPRC) commemorated its 10th anniversary with a special ceremony attended by founding members, international representatives, and current staff.
Established in 2015, the EPRC has become a cornerstone of multinational cooperation in personnel recovery operations, working to enhance the effectiveness and interoperability in rescuing isolated personnel during crises and conflicts, becoming a key institution supporting NATO, EU, and national operations with advanced training, doctrine development, and strategic coordination.
The anniversary celebration was both a moment of pride and reflection, recognizing a decade of progress and joint effort.

Among the guests of honor, were some of the Centre’s founding members, whose presence underscored the significance of the occasion. Their contributions laid the groundwork for what is now this institution, supporting NATO and EU missions as well as national initiatives.
The ceremony included an informal address by the EPRC Commander, who expressed gratitude to all those who have contributed to the Centre’s success and showcased the future plans and programs. Special recognition was given to the founding nations and individuals whose vision and dedication were instrumental in establishing the EPRC.

Despite the sweltering heat, with temperatures climbing well above seasonal averages, the atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm and camaraderie. Attendees gathered not only to celebrate past achievements but also to reaffirm their commitment to the Centre’s evolving mission.
As the EPRC looks ahead to the next decade, it continues to play a critical role in building multinational capabilities, training recovery forces, and fostering collaboration among European partners in safeguarding personnel.
