The 13th PTEC Marketplace took place at the new NATO HQ (NNHQ) in Brussels on Thursday, 29 November 2018. The goal of the event was to promote PTECs Education&Training achievements, advertise respective centers and to display the PTEC community cooperative efforts to NATO audience.
23 PTEC representatives from around the world, including EPRC, met to exchange expertise, forge new links and discuss further synergies in the key domain of military education and training.
The event was welcomed by NAC Deputy Secretary General Mrs. Rose Gottemoeller and the CMC Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart Peach.
Madame Gottemoeller visited the EPRC stand and interviewed personnel, confirming the relevance of Personnel Recovery for NATO. Besides, the EPRC stand was visited by civil and military personnel (including representatives from Israel, Kuwait, Ukraine, Austria and Algeria) interested in EPRC’s Education&Training opportunities and highlighting the necessity to train their personnel in PR.
The PTEC Marketplace represents one of the main international venues in which the EPRC can display itself and its education and training opportunities to NATO/NATO partners together with the entire PTEC community.
The interest showed not only by the allies but also by external partners towards EPRC confirms the global relevance of Personnel Recovery and opens new possibilities for EPRC itself.
Since 1999, PTECs have played an essential role in supporting NATO, by offering multiple courses and training opportunities to Allies and partners. To date, 32 Centres based in 25 NATO and partner countries have joined the NATO network. Five more Centres have expressed their interest in joining the community. The network connect both Allies and partner forces and increase the cooperation to address common security challenges.
