On January 29, 2025, the Main Planning Conference (MPC) for the upcoming APROC (Air Centric Personnel Recovery Operatives Course) was successfully conducted at Albacete Air Base, Spain. The European Personnel Recovery Centre (EPRC) team had already deployed on January 28 to prepare for the arrival of all participants and coordinate with the personnel from the Framework Nation, Belgium, which will provide logistical support for CIS operations throughout the course, and to meet the POCs of the host base that will support the logistics during the whole planning phase and the course.
The conference brought together representatives from multiple nations, including France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Romania, Portugal, Belgium, Spain, and the United States that will deploy multiple resources to participate to the course and support it.
During the meeting, the Course Director for the 2025 edition, Lieutenant Colonel Andrea Vettore, presented the full program of activities and planning details that will involve all participating nations.
APROC 2025 is set to feature more than 30 aerial assets, including rotary-wing aircraft, EFA2000 fighters, and platforms supporting the C2 structure, such as the AWACS and the Italian Air Force’s CAEW. Additionally, a Spanish Air Force MQ-9 will also be involved. Various specialized Extraction Forces teams will once again play a crucial role in ensuring the success of the course.
As in previous editions, the EPRC will oversee a dedicated course on the reintegration phase, utilizing both personnel and infrastructure to train specialists in debriefing recovered personnel.
The continued commitment of EPRC nations, along with non-member countries, has once again highlighted the strategic importance of Personnel Recovery (PR) at an international level, positioning APROC as one of the most significant training events in this field.
This edition of APROC will also introduce several changes to better align training with the evolving needs of the participating nations.
The course dates have been confirmed and will take place from May 19 to May 30, 2025.
